Remy Tumin is an award winning journalist who has covered everything from small town politics to presidential visits, food and agriculture to critical housing shortages. A born and raised New Yorker, she joined The New York Times staff in 2016. She is currently a reporter and writes the Evening Briefing.
Her work has been featured in The Times, Yahoo, Brooklyn Magazine and TakePart.com. Remy got her start as a general assignment reporter on Martha’s Vineyard, where her work for the Vineyard Gazette was recognized multiple times by the New England Newspaper and Press Association. She is also the assistant editor of Edible Vineyard, a biannual food magazine.
Remy acted as lead researcher and marketing/public relations manager for James Beard Award winning The Beetlebung Farm Cookbook (Little, Brown, 2015).
She has a keen interest for all things epicurean, social issues and the nearest dance floor.
